Offers & Messaging

What are offers?

Offers are how you negotiate directly listed modules on MutaMarket. An offer is a private message thread between you and the module's owner:

  • Price negotiation: Discuss the price of a listed module directly with the seller
  • Real-time chat: Messages arrive live, with typing indicators and read tracking
  • Tracking: All your active offers in one place on the Offers page
  • Notifications: Get notified on Discord or by EVE mail when offers and messages arrive

Note: Offers exist for modules listed as public assets. Modules listed via in-game contract are bought through the contract itself. There is no formal accept/reject button — you agree on a deal in the message thread and settle it in-game (usually via a contract).

How do I make an offer?

  1. Find a directly listed module on the market — its price shows the seller's asking price, or "Make offer" if they haven't set one
  2. Click the price to open the "Make an offer" dialog
  3. In the message field, include:
    • Your offer amount in ISK
    • Any additional information or reasoning for your offer
  4. Click "Send offer"

You can only have one open offer per module, and you can't send offers to users who have blocked you. If you already have an offer on a module, its card shows "Go to offer" instead.

Tips:

  • Use the appraisal tool to help determine a fair offer price
  • Check similar modules on the market to gauge current prices
  • Be polite and professional in your messages
  • Clearly state your offer amount at the start of your message
  • Format your ISK amount clearly (e.g., "1.5b ISK" or "1,500,000,000 ISK")

How do I manage my offers?

Visit the Offers page to see all your offers — sent and received — sorted by latest message and searchable. Each row shows the module, its estimated value, the other character, and the latest message. Unread messages are marked, and the Offers item in the navigation shows an unread badge.

Open an offer to see the full thread. The sidebar shows the module details, the asking price and estimated value, and negotiation tips. From here you can:

  • Reply in the chat (Enter sends, Shift+Enter adds a new line)
  • Leave Offer to withdraw from the negotiation — you won't see the offer anymore, and once either side leaves, no more messages can be sent
  • Block User if the other party is inappropriate (see below)

What is proper offer etiquette?

Following these guidelines helps ensure smooth negotiations:

  • Be Professional: Keep communications polite and respectful
  • Be Clear: Explain your reasoning for offer amounts
  • Be Responsive: Respond to messages in a timely manner
  • Be Realistic: Make offers based on market value and module stats
  • Be Patient: Give sellers time to consider your offer

Important: If you're no longer interested, use the "Leave Offer" button to properly end the negotiation.

How does blocking work?

You can block a user from inside an offer thread with the "Block User" button. Blocking:

  • applies to the user's whole account — all of their characters
  • prevents them from sending you any new offers
  • automatically leaves every offer between you and them, in both directions

Block carefully: there is currently no option on the site to undo a block yourself.

How do I get notified about offers and messages?

MutaMarket notifies you through one channel, depending on your account:

  • Discord — if you've linked Discord in your settings, notifications arrive as direct messages: new offers immediately, and a reminder when you have unread messages for a while.
  • EVE Mail — without Discord, the same notifications are sent as in-game mail to the character you selected under "EVE Mail & Raffles" in your settings.

While you're on the site, you also get live toast notifications for new offers and messages, and the Offers navigation item shows your unread count.

Note: Discord notifications are the fastest way to stay updated on your offers. Link your Discord account on the Settings page.
